Friday, June 27th

On Friday campers enjoyed learning about a foreign country for our themed Italy Day!  We did crafts, played games, and completed activities that all had something to do with the country of Italy.  Some of the children even learned how to say a few numbers in Italian!

Tomorrow, Monday, we will begin decorating our float for the 4th of July parade!  Counselor Coleman will also be substituting for Grace C. Hope to see everyone tomorrow for the decorating fun!

Water Safety Presentation

Yesterday at camp we had a visitor come talk to us about the importance of water safety. She had lots of fun, interactive demonstrations that the kids enjoyed!

June 23, 2014

Camp went very well yesterday!  Campers had their first of five Young Rembrandts art classes that will be scheduled on Mondays for the next month.  They also created dragonflies using Popsicle sticks.  There were some very creative dragonflies!  If you child forgot their dragonfly at camp, we have many that were accidentally left behind in the cabin, so feel free to come pick them up on Wednesday. 

Also, please send your child to camp with a swimsuit on Wednesday, as we will be playing with the slip-and-slide for part of the afternoon. 

On another note, counselors Lily (Giraffe), Sophie (Penguin), and Grace (Monkey) will be gone from camp on Wednesday.  Ethan will be substituting for the Giraffe group, Coleman will be substituting for the Penguin group, and the Monkey and Hippo (Kerry) groups will be combined. 

Finally, there are some articles of clothing, towels, and other items left in the cabin.  If you are missing something, please check in the cabin to see if it was accidentally left at camp. 

June 20 Craft

Tomorrow, June 20th, campers will have fun with some easy (but messy) science projects! Everything should be able to wash out of clothing, but please send your child to camp in or with a paint shirt for this activity just in case.  I hope everyone is excited to have lots of fun with these projects!

Weather Update

If the rain continues into the afternoon, we will meet for camp inside of the cabin.  If it stops before camp starts, plan to meet at the original designated spots.

Everyone had a great time at the first day of camp! If weather permits, please send your child to camp with a swimsuit on Wednesday.
